Sedalia State Fair Lions Club Donates $1,000 to MFA Arena

Sedalia State Fair Lions Club president, Lion Bill Stokes, presented a check for $1,000.00 to Wendy Faulconer of the Missouri State Fair Foundation for the MFA Arena Project at the Historic Coliseum. Sedalia State Fair Lions Club has been a partner of the Foundation for quite some time.  Each year they volunteer to manage the Preferred Parking Lot during the State Fair. The money raised from  parking collections is re-invested in Foundation projects. This new contribution will be invested in the renovation of the 1905 warm-up arena at the north end of the Historic Coliseum.  The arena will be re-built into an 80′ x 220′ covered facility.  Connected to the Coliseum through a covered breezeway, this new facility will be a tremendous improvement.  It will turn the current warm-up area into a versatile, multi-use livestock facility re-named the MFA Arena.  It will provide Missouri’s 4-H & FFA youth the livestock facilities necessary to truly showcase the “best of the best”. The Missouri State Fair Foundation is deeply appreciative of the State Fair Lions Club and thanks them for partnering with us to preserve, improve, and perpetuate the rich agricultural heritage of Missouri by investing in our future farmers, ranchers, and leaders.
