New FFA Building
The Missouri State Fair Foundation led a capital campaign, and was a major donor, in the construction of the new FFA Building on the Missouri State Fairgrounds. In partnership with the State of Missouri and agricultural organizations, this building was completed in 2003 on time and within budget, at a cost of approximately $350,000.00.
The new FFA Building will allow the Future Farmers Association of Missouri and other youth organizations to exhibit in a modern, climate controlled structure. This facility also serves the State Fairgrounds as a venue for off season events and activities.
Home Economics Building Renovation
The Missouri State Fair Foundation raised and contributed nearly $25,000.00 to renovate and climate control the Home Economics Building, one of the historic original structures of the Missouri State Fairgrounds. These renovations have transformed the Home Ec Building into a modern and comfortable facility, while preserving the architecture and design of one of the original Fair structures.
4H Building – Climate Control
The Missouri State Fair Foundation raised and contributed $2,000.00 to air condition and climate control the 4H Building. Future renovations are planned for this facility, one the original historic structures on the Fairgrounds.
Campgrounds Improvement
The most recent endeavor of the Missouri State Fair Foundation is the contribution of $40,000.00 for the construction of new hook ups and campsites on the Missouri State Fair campground. These sites will allow for additional camping during the Missouri State Fair, and for extended use of the campgrounds during camping related off season events held on the Fairgrounds. The campgrounds are a major revenue producer for the State Fair, and these improvements will enhance revenue year round.
