Volunteer Program

Each year hundreds of Missourians give the gift of time and energy by serving as a Missouri State Fair Foundation volunteer.

Volunteers allow the Foundation to put more money towards preserving blue ribbon memories rather than payroll and expenses.

Foundation volunteers sell souvenirs and bottled water at multiple locations on the fairgrounds; and serve as State Fair Museum guides.  Volunteers from the Sedalia State Fair Lions Club park cars in a VIP parking area that generates additional income for the Foundation as well.  Throughout the year, volunteers are used to help with mailings, inventory and preparing for Foundation events.

During the Fair, volunteers generally work in four-hour shifts. At the 2011 Missouri State Fair, approximately 165 volunteers worked over 1,000 hours in 11 days.  They parked more than 2500 cars, sold over $21,000 in souvenirs and $46,000 in water, and registered more than 5600 visitors at the State Fair Museum.  Wow!  What a tremendous team effort!  Thanks to their efforts, the Foundation will be able to continue moving forward with projects that will perpetuate the great heritage of the Missouri State Fair.  Click here to see the names of our 2011 Blue Ribbon Volunteers:  2011 Volunteer List for Web
