Marion Lucas is the Director of the Missouri State Fair. In January, 2007, the Missouri State Fair Commission talked Marion into coming out of retirement to be the Director of the Missouri State Fair. He was previous Missouri State Fair Director from 1981 - 1986. In 1986, he was hired by the Iowa State Fairgrounds as their CEO/Manager and worked in that position until he retired in 2002. Marion served on the International Association of Fairs & Expositions board two times, and was President in 2001. He has been a member of almost every Fair association, including ICMBA, IEBA, NICA, and Western Fairs Association. Also, he is past President of the Midwest Fairs Association, a member of the Country Music Association, and was Montgomery County Fair Director for 20 years. Marion and his wife, Fran, reside in Sedalia where they recently purchased a home.
