RENOVATION PLAN
This plan identifies buildings to be removed on the fairgrounds. Many of these structures exist within the fairgrounds' historic district. It includes approximately 185,000 gross square feet of building space. The renovation plan is based on structures that are deteriorated, do not meet code requirements, or are programmed for a different use. It is the intention of the plan to make better use of these structures to help meet the exhibition space demand upon the Missouri State Fairgrounds site. All renovations to the historic structures are based on historic preservation guidelines established by the U.S. Department of the Interior's standards. Most of the renovations are recommended for structural improvement, safety reasons, and to acclimate the structure for year-round use.
