Jim Sterling is a Professor of Journalism at the University of Missouri School of Journalism. He is a former member of the University of Missouri Board of Curators, having served as a curator from 1987-1993. He is a former newspaper publisher, and his company Sterling Media, with headquarters in Bolivar, Missouri, published several community newspapers throughout Missouri. He sold Sterling Media in 1999, and assumed his position at the MU School of Journalism at that time. He is a past President of the Missouri Press Association, and is a member of numerous journalistic and educational organizations.
