The Missouri State Fair was created by the Missouri General Assembly in 1899 to promote and grow our State's #1industry - Agriculture. Our Fair has remained true to its' purpose for more than 110 years. Today, the Missouri State Fair continues to focus on the perpetuation of our agricultural prosperity.
Regrettably, some things have changed. The Fair no longer receives General Revenue or Capital Improvement funds from the State Legislature. Fortunately, the Missouri State Fair is able to generate its own operating budget. However, private funding from friends and supporters is essential to continued: youth development; education; preservation; and improvements for economic growth. Therefore, in 1988 the Missouri State Fair Commission created the Missouri State Fair Foundation, a charitable non-profit 501(c) 3 organization dedicated to cultivating the future of agriculture.
